AA: BOS-PEK - 787 in Biz <$3K until 4/17

I'd like some feedback on this:
AA BOS-PEK R/T via ORD or DFW in business class for USD $2998. Lie flat seats on long haul. Wide Availability: Outbound Mon/Tues/Thurs/Sun Return most days.
Business class bonus and PLT or EXP should get you around 37,200 mi. (more with DFW stop)

(Sorry, no link but easily found)

4 questions:
Is my mileage calculation correct?
If so, it comes out to 8 cpm for PLT and EXP. Correct?
What class of service is this?
Is it a decent deal?

it's not a bad price, but I wouldn't call it worthy of this forum.

If you make a short trip to YYZ you can route YYZ-DFW-PEK-DFW-YYZ for $1801 USD.

There are three previous threads discussing this deal.

Aa/dl yyz-pek j c$2267

UA: YYZ to PEK $2318 CAD $1712 USD

Yyz-pek/pvg, $1915 usd (aa)

1. I don't think your mileage calculations are correct. BOS-ORD-PEK r/t is ~14,900 miles flown. This is likely an I fare, which means 2.0 EQMs, so ~29,800 EQMs (assuming you're crediting to AAdvantage). RDMs are calculated using the amount of the base fare + carrier charges (i.e., total fare minus government taxes) times a multiplier based on status (8x for PLT and 11x for EXP).

2. I get closer to 10cpm based on 29,800 EQMs.

3. It looks like a business class fare that likely books into I class.

4. My personal threshold for a business class "mileage run" is 10cpm. This is just at that threshold so I'd say it's ok. At least as of yesterday, however, J fares to PEK from YYZ on AA were under US$1800 (C$2400). At about 5.5cpm, I would say that if you can easily position to YYZ, that is a much better deal.
