UK to US Jul-Aug 2017 from 1,126 GBP rt business *A and ST

Inspired by skyhighlander's post here, I just booked LHR-FRA-IAH//IAH-LHR for dates in July for 1,320 GBP, out with LH and back with UA. I could have paid a little less if I'd chosen UA for all segments. I think this is the first time I've paid less to fly to the US from the UK in business class than I would to fly from AMS, ARN, CPH, DUB or one of the other usual suspects.

The 1,126 GBP in the title is for INV-AMS-IAH, as found by skyhighlander. That's the lowest I've seen but I'm also seeing very good prices for MAN and EDI as well as LON.

Nothing similar on OW as far as I can see -- although AA/BA do have similarly low fares to SAT.

Inverness has no APD which saves £150.

I was able to find it on GF by searching between LHR and IAD on star alliance. Calander shows 1500isj € during summer 2017 and some other periods.

Oh it is INV-IAH RT. I suppose a long layover helped to lower the cost.

Not for 1,126 GBP but there are a lot of other good prices. For 5 to 13 July, for example:

ATL from around 1,699 GBP with AC.
AUS around 1,840 GBP all alliances.
DFW from around 1,860 GBP all alliances.
SAT (see OP) around 1,550 GBP, AA /BA.
MSY around 1,660 GBP all alliances.

I wish it was the other direction. We're planning a trip to Scotland and Ireland in Sept.
