Having just got back from a Downunder trip connecting via the very same A350 Doh-Adl flights all I can say is Bon Voyage to those that have booked. Excellent flight experience all round. Actually quite a lot to do around the area, so a hire car is recommended. Nice airport as well by the way. Enjoy QR and Au. ^

I'm using the flight to position to NHV - not the shortest but definitely more comfortable than approaching it from the other side of the world in Y...

Well that was fun.
Returned three days ago from an 8-day jaunt. (Hi Mike, Peter and Tonio!)
Certainly a whole bottle of Camus XO came my way in the process.
No time in ADL but added a circuit around MEL and PER to the mix.
Bon voyage to everyone who's still got this coming up.

Thanks for the report! Out of interest, does the bar get noisy? I've selected a seat only a couple of rows back and am now worried about actually getting sleep...

Aspire has a new lounge in Terminal E, so that makes it the most convenient lounge, inkl runway views and a rooftop terrace.
The dnata lounge is in the main terminal before passport control and before taking the train to Terminal E, so is less desirable.

A few weeks ago I went to that F-Lounge from Swiss at the E-Docks, the new E-Lounges are incredible. Thx for your info.
For those who are flying next: the flight dep. time from DOH-ZRH will be a few minutes later.

Just back from Oz. The A350 was fantastic. Completely surprised mrs. polderbaan with J, she had no idea until we boarded and were escorted to the left. Both ways the bar area was hardly used, if at all. Very empty flight returning to DOH both in J and Y, they actually had to move people around in Y to adjust weight distribution for takeoff.

I think they already went from daily to 6 or 5 weekly. Flew 2 weeks ago, on the way down there it was surprisingly full, only 3 seats empty in C and almost 80% full in Y. On the way back to DOH it was miserable, 13 in C and ~20% load in Y, if not worse...

where are your figures coming from? my flight adl to doh was near full. according to BITRE the August loads for QR in and out of Australia were 85.8% inbound and 93.6% outbound, based on that id say overall the ADL loads must be fine.

NZ in Y with no food and only water to PPT (so quite a change) and VT, the only option, within FP. Alas I'd have love to have done the Marquesas, but travelling solo and with limited time made that a little impractical.

What people do not realise with Adelaide is that our national carrier Qantas does not fly direct to any international destinations from Adelaide. Adelaidians have no strong allegiance to Qantas at all as that airline expects us all to fly to the Perth / Sydney gateways to connect onto international flights. These two airports involve catching a bus / train between terminals. Why bother when the international airlines will fly us out direct.
South Australians will support full service airlines. Budget airlines are another story
