Changed the example, see above. Seems availability is limited, but the fare is still there

Thanks for the great tip. Just got round trip ticketed on the short layover flights outbound 30/11 returning 12/12 for €1131.

I never in a million years thought I'd get to Australia for Ł1k, let alone with sterling at current levels!

maxvor - I owe you a beer.

Wow, 75% fare for kids, that comes out to around US$1k but it's next to impossible to get it to price, something wonky happens when you try to book adult and child together for most of the dates I checked...

@tymoon25:
Thanks a lot for sharing this increadable fare. I really appreciate it even though it didn't work for me.

But at least Lucky has seen a new best business class fare from A to B... :/

Drink one for me onboard And besides, all the credit goes to tymoon25, I just mentioned that the fare is still alive and made mods to change the topic and subforum for the thread.

Thanks again to the op, this is a great fare. Managed to get a booking for Saturday week returning 2 weeks later.

Also confirmed that if taking the late flight from ZRH (with a 20 hour stopover) it is STPC eligible so hotel/transfers/food vouchers are included...

You may want to double check this as the last time I went through this (ARN - SIN), the policy was that if it Is possible to connect between the two points in under 8 hours then the hotel is not included for free even if the booking you made/only one available at the time had a longer than 8 hour layover. In my case, I had a flight that arrived in DOH at around 18.00 and connected on at 03.00 which gave around 9 hours. Was denied the hotel as they operated a flight to Singapore at around 20.30 (wasn't on sale).

Policy may have changed but worth checking before banking on it.

Policy didn't change. Your itinerary has never been eligible for STPC as there's an earlier connection out of DOH to SIN and it's your own (albeit forced) choice to take the later departure (even though the earlier flight is sold out/not on sale)

This ZRH-DOH-ADL connection is STPC eligible if departing on the 18:30/17:30 ZRH departure (on certain days only) as the earliest QR connection out of DOH to ADL is ~19 hours later.

Great news.

The guy I spoke to (to paraphrase) basically said that if there is any way to fly between the two cities that means the connection time could be under 8 hours (irrespective of the flights you choose) then you will not get a hotel.

I understand what your saying about my earlier flight but I did seek overall clarification on the general terms of the policy and he said essentially what I write above.

From what your saying, I was misinformed.

Scrap that. Just realised that the flight time for ZRH -DOH differs from day to day. I thought there were two per day.

Sorry!!!

Agree that the terms posted on QR website is quite vague and sometimes their reservation agents are misinformed themselves... although TK agent is the worst when it comes to information consistency...

Having just got back from a Downunder trip connecting via the very same A350 Doh-Adl flights all I can say is Bon Voyage to those that have booked. Excellent flight experience all round. Actually quite a lot to do around the area, so a hire car is recommended. Nice airport as well by the way. Enjoy QR and Au. ^
