Just booked one myself - have to be in the West Coast Area anyway and was able to price it out with a stopover in LAX on my way back. AA fare basis outbound, AY fare inbound. Booked it via aa.com through the Powertool Script. That Script is really great, very powerful if you know your way around with the Matrix!! Routing is CDG-xPHL-xLAX-HNL-LAX-xPHL-CDG, so former US-Airways planes with fully flat seats.

BTW, it seems that the AY fare is slightly different coded with regards to the minimum stay (despite the same rules on EF?). It seems that the SUN-Rule is applied from the first stopover/destination (whatever is first). So in case a stopover is included already on the outbound way in PHL e.g., the flights to HNL must adhere to the SUN-Rule. Arriving on Friday, you have to wait till Sunday. At least that was my experience?

Well, many thanks to henkybaby for posting the fare and maxvor for introducing me to the ITA-Matrix Powertool Script! ^

The base fare dropped to 700 Euros so one can now get 1200 Euros all-in without stopovers. The "tickets must be issued by" date has been extended to May 5.

@fwerfel Thanks for hint. I'm trying to make the same as you but during Chirstmas and New Year. I'd like to spend New Years Eve in NY and day after go to HNL. But when I'm creating this trip i cannot get 1200 eur but only 1800 eur. You have paid with stopover 600 euro more?

Maybe @maxvor can help with this case?

@originunkown Thanks a lot! You can do this via Google or aa.com?

Looks like someone beat me to the punch. I canceled and bought a new ticket. Fare went down by about $250 for me with two stopovers.

~$12xx USD in August - CDG-HNL-CDG (I forget the routing because it did not interest me)
~$14xx USD in January - CDG-JFK-LAX-HNL-DFW-CDG (Booked!)

2 tickets in January, $1398 USD each! (Even scored the upgrades to First on the DFW-CDG!)

So seems there are a lot of us booked to do CDG-JFK-LAX-HNL and back... I'm out 27/12 but not coming back the same way (HNL-LAX-ASE//DFW-CDG) but that was €1480. Bargain.

Telephoned today because of the price drop... I booked on 1st so today's drop is the worst timing. I'm not hopeful of getting €200 back but if you don't try...

Getting down to £860 CDG - SFO. Crazy stuff!

EDIT: So from a TATL to a domestic, with checked baggage, what's the minimum connection time I should be building into this itinerary?

I can get past the passenger detail page, but it stops at the page where they ask for TSA. That's why I thought the deal was dead. Maybe it's my iPad...

The original fare needed to be ticketed by 03/05.

I can't seem to find this new, lower fare on ITA. Has anybody been able to pull up the final ticketing date?

It would be great to make this work for Easter next year but the 331 day schedule limit for AA is throwing a spanner in the works.

Edit:

Nevermind, I got some fare rules on AA. Looks like Easter won't be doable.
