At the time of my post the fares were loaded but I class availability hadn't been opened wide up. That happened in the following 12 hours and looks wide open now.

Even cheaper available from CPH, connecting back through LHR. Various options available, NYC/MIA/ORD for ~£900 and AUS/DFW for £1000, departing June-August '16.
I've managed to swing CPH-LHR-AUS-ORD-DFW-JFK-LHR-CPH for £1048 (booked into I and J), total flown 12.5K miles.
