It is similar to the J product on AA/CX.
Check out http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.c...h-first-class/ (yes I know...sorry...but good pics).
Also bear in mind KU don't serve alcohol on board. Great for me being a non-drinker, but I can imagine plenty of people after an F product will be pretty annoyed!!
Good deal if you are just after a J flatbed hard product over the Atlantic, with no expectations of F hard product or service. Although one could argue that with the current AA/BA/IB ex-EU deal to JFK for around 1200 Euros, this deal is not THAT great!

KAL would actually get v cross if you took clothes off on ANY of their flights
Also worth bearing in mind if you can get over the no-alcohol point is that their metal is quite elderly, so you could still need those curious old ear phone adapters to use the sound system.
But at the moment this doesn't seem to matter much as the no-alcohol situation is overtaken by the no-on-board audio/video system situation. Can someone chime in please as to whether this is a system-wide problem concerning payment of license fees etc or a maintenance problem concerning LHR-JFK-LHR metal never making it to home-base in Koweit to get audio/video systems working? The video screens do mysteriously work for playing safety videos, pointing to licensing fee payment issues with commercial videos.
However, their planes do date back to an era before when airlines treated upgrades so parsimoniously: An upgrade from steerage to business gives you proper seats, and not just a slight increase in legroom and a slightly elevated standard of service.
And while we are on the subject of cost, does any other airline on the JFK-LHR run come anywhere near KAL's $648 fare if you can snag a ticket in K? (Is this real or are they just not charging that fuel surcharge which other airlines conflate with "taxes and duties"?)
