UA/DL:YUL/YYZ-SCL Business $1500-1700

I am not sure if these are a great deal or not, but it seems to be quite a low price to get to South America

Prices were around $1750 for dates around Aug/Sep/Oct on DL from YYZ/YUL to SCL via ATL.

Jan 2016, UA has flights from YUL-IAH-SCL with the latter being on the 787 for $1500.

As for West Coast, some DL flights to SCL from YVR/YYC for around $2270.

Any guess if these are due to the low C$?

You can find them via Google flights. Unfortunately, the UA deal requires a very long layover in IAH both ways. DL is nice, though, but few dates available makes for a long stay in SCL.

These prices for SCL as well as LIM, at least from western Canada (YVR / YYC), have been almost continuous for most of 2015 on UA.

Can do LIM from YYC for ~1300. Books into P class at 9800 miles RT. No overnight in Houston.

These are nice fares, but I assume they are in USD?

Unfortunately, with the current exchange rate they don't look quite so exceptional anymore in CAD: USD1500 = CAD1950

These are definitely great prices - particularly considering January is peak season in Chile (and a great time to trek Patagonia, for those interested in that type of thing). OTOH I'm also seeing r/t deals on the same YUL-SCL routing for US$1,731 as early as September. The specific availability dates appear to be entirely random, but from the looks of it either the $1,500 or the $1,731 fare requires a ten-day minimum stay.

Too bad you can't simply fly out of IAH instead of getting stuck with a 10-hour layover; I don't see anything cheaper than US$2,369, despite shaving a good 2,000 miles off the trip.

from YYZ the layover in IAH is less than 2hrs?

Forcing an overnight in IAH seems to greatly increase the price. Are you suggesting UA elites do a Same Day Change when arriving in IAH in both directions and changing the onward to the following day? I'm guessing that would only work with no checked bags on the outbound (does USA customs occur in YUL?)?

No, I prefer just to overnight at a hotel in IAH. Actually, that is the only way for me in order to catch an early morning flight.

and yes, as answered above. USA customs will be in YUL.

I'm seeing LIM for a similar price ($1412 but it's dec) as you've posted, but nothing close to that for SCL.

I'll need some AQS next year and while these don't provide lots of AQS it's at least a much nicer ride for not that much more coin. I'm just jealous that BOG doesn't get 767 service from IAH/EWR business YVR-BOG is only $40 cheaper (for what I was looking at) than LIM which gets a 767 service rather than a 737. Def wanna check out MVD/SCL/EZE in 2016, hoping for a rehash of the CM prices or better yet UA widebodies.
