90 day advance purchase, does not appear to require a minimum stay. Same day turns not possible due to flight times. AA flies ICN-DFW and you'll connect there. UA flies ICN-SFO, you'll connect there. You can book UA's p.s. service SFO-JFK if desired as well. Can route ICN-SFO-IAH-LGA and reverse to get those extra PQMs.

To answer my own question: apparently not.
Also, the reverse (NYC-ICN) can be had for $3474 ai RT on AA. Not too bad.

My BOS-ICN RT on UA was only $1,700.

Nice find OP. ICN-DFW direct is the same price.

It's a shame the snark started so early in this thread. :/

What's the recommended routing for this route equipment-wise? Looks like ORD-NRT is an option vs direct DFW-ICN or ICN-ORD? Is business full lie-flat? Fare class?
Thanks for suggestions

AA/UA: ICN-NYC first class $2750 AI RT, ICN-USA <$3200 first class AI RT

SFO777, I checked, no codeshares available on better carriers sadly. Couldn't even get the ICN-HKG-DFW routing to work to fly the marginally better 77W in F on AA. If there was some better carrier, I might not have posted it .

dieuwer2, no one way. I wish , I'd pay $1400 instead of using miles to fly F, due to how many miles would be earned with this (even post 3/1 on UA). And it is now really easy to see why UA honored the $1700 fare, if they're willing to sell nearly the same route for $2700 (and this fare definitely is not the m-word!).

paramenace, on AA I could only get ICN-DFW to work, which is the 772 and is a bit old but workable for F, nothing incredible in terms of product or amenities. I like AA's desserts in meals, and I've personally had great service on my AA F flights, but the product is quite mediocre at this point honestly. UA flies a 747 on ICN-SFO, and I'm not as familiar with their long haul first class products unfortunately to give a better opinion.

I am sure when you are paying 2.7k for crossing the pacific in F class, you wouldn't expect to get an F seat similar to the one offered by LH or SQ
