There are plenty of ex LEOs in the TSA right now. Most of the ones I came across did it to earn extra income from the feds while they collected a pension from the city. I've even worked with a cop and fire fighter moonlighting in the TSA.

To be honest the ex cops and corrections officers are the ones you dont want to come across. Most of them dont seem to care about termination because they can sit home and collect their pension anyway.

And for the life of me I can not understand why a former leo would ever work for TSA. I would rather collect the garbage. At least I have respect for them.

Garbage collectors are infinitely higher on the respect graph than TSA employees. At least the people picking up the trash are making a positive contribution to society.

I agree, but the "At least" is still somewhat diminishing. Trash collectors working for a responsible waste disposal firm are indeed doing great work. The contribution to public health alone makes their job vital.

Quite so. I appreciate garbage collection and thank those who do so. ^

The phrase "Thank you" doesn't come to mind for TSA employees, but one of those words is in there... ;)
