Blender allowed past US security?
Just received a blender as a gift, will I be able to carry it on? No plans to check a bag but will if necessary.
|
The blender will not be allowed past security. Security will ask you to surrender the blade thus rendering it useless. I highly recommend that you check in the blender or have someone mail you the blade later.
|
Assuming you still have it in the orginal box take it to a UPS store and have them ship it. Less hassle.

Waste of money to mail the entire blender. Mail only the blade in a little box. The only other problem is that the glass of the blender could be broken and used as a weapon. I am not sure how the rules are on that. So to make it easy, just check the darn bag with the entire blender and blade. $15 for much less hassle.

No way! How could they let you take it past security. A blender can turn anything into a liquid (or a least a powder)

TSA airport checkpoint rules still secret
TSA refuses to publish the rules it imposes on us in our airports. The best you can hope for at this point is to digest all the tips, suggestions, press releases, and airport signage, try to comply with that of the above which is not contradictory, and throw yourself at the mercy of whatever TSA luggage inspector happens to search you.
If you are told that you're in violation of any of these secret rules you are required to follow, one of two things will happen: A) your freedom of movement will be restricted, or B) your property will be seized. |
No chance getting that past the TSA. It could too easily be used as a makeshift Codling Grinder.
