"Search this!!"

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle2248328.ece

A PILOT furious at being searched before flying dropped his pants and exposed himself to security staff, then raged: “Do you want to search this?”

His flight had to be cancelled as police were called and the pilot was quizzed — but not arrested.

Thirty-seven passengers on the Swiss International Airlines flight from London City Airport were delayed for two hours yesterday as the row erupted.

A source said: “The pilot was asked to take off his shoes and belt like everyone — but completely lost the plot.

“He pulled down his trousers and pants to completely expose himself, then turned to the security guard and asked angrily, ‘Do you want to search this?’”

Good for the pilot. It's about time for these so called Security Experts to understand that the pilot could fly the plane into the ground or any other thing they wish.

Already in Newsstand with the same smile.

Yes, but in order for one pilot to overpower the other a weapon might be used.

Or he could just wait till the other went up to go to the bathroom ...

Even if an FA is in there with the pilot, a quick push down and I doubt there's much an FA could do.

The source said: “... no one can understand why he reacted the way he did.”
 Think about it for a while. You'll figure it out eventually.

I imagine getting the axe free from its housing would be pretty conspicuous. A lot more conspicuous than pulling a pistol from small bag.

Pilots, crews, ground crews, TSA, and anyone else that enters the sterile area needs to be screened at the same level. If not you are just creating a security hole.

Don't give the screeners any ideas. we already have virtual strip machines. If they think the flying public wants to actually strip then they may switch to cheaper technology...2 eyes.

I saw a special on the national geographic channel about a pilot who wanted to crash a plane. He brought along a hammer and spear gun to overpower his co pilots. Dont forget that pilots are people too. You dont know what kind of stress they are under or even if they had a few drinks before liftoff.

I even found a wikipedia article about the incident.

LibDem MP and pilot Lembit Opik also questioned the new measures, saying: “The unavoidable logic of the ever-tightening noose of security leads directly and quickly into a police state ... What has happened is a very real compromising of our civil liberties.”

One pilot pointed out the irony of spectacles being taken away when they had an axe on the flight deck.

“While my glasses were deemed potentially deadly dangerous items, I once again took my seat at the controls of 185,000 kilos of aeroplane, people and fuel and managed to restrain myself from taking the crash axe to all and sundry prior to rolling, inverted and diving, into the Channel,” he said.

National Geographic had a special about that flight on their series about airborne emergencies and disasters.
