Yes, I remove the shoes and belt (but only because the shoes go off), but no body pat. Then I take an elevator up and am brought to my gate.

But that is still a major hassle.

Not other Western European airport does the shoe-nonsense AFAIK.

FRA does when my shoes go off at the metal detector. IST does if you consider that European (I don't but it seems everybody wants to for personal gains).

IST - while cool - is not Western European at least ;) .

But FRA always used the wand on me. I keep having troubles with the belts though. Even bought a metal free one for air travel but it's ugly like heck.
