This is yet another reason why I don't lock any checked bags. Getting past the locks, or slicing through the fabric is easy enough.

But with that logic, why should you lock your doors at home? The bad guys are only going to break out a window. A lock, even a TSA approved one, is at least a small (I know very small) deterrent. Thieves are looking for the easy score.
I do try not to check any bags in, for ease of travel, and theft issues. I believe fancy locked bags are more likely to be burgled than my nondescript Kirkland bag. I've only had things stolen once from my bag, and that was a video camera, when they were covered as checked luggage, so you know how long ago that must have been! |

Who says I do lock my doors? Besides, I can kill someone who is breaking into my house, but can't do much about the TSA or other baggage handlers. ;)
