Talking A Modest Proposal..

Let's put the TSA in charge of maritime piracy. No one else seems to have been able to do much so there's no record of competence to compete with. We can put screeners on boats and have them check people's shoes on the high seas.

Sound good?

Davy Jones' Locker = better bet for TSA

Or, we could just take the TSA out to sea and have it walk the plank...

We could give the pirates 15-1000 TSO's as hostages and then negotiate.

By the time they figure out what they have they'll be willing to pay us to take them back.

I sort of like the idea of sending "Q-Ships" into the areas where piracy is a high risk...

Peaceful looking merchant ship sailing along - mediem size tanker say - along come the pirates... as soon as they fire a shot:

CLANG! The screens drop away revealing the hidden armament.....

Not terribly realistic (or legal I expect)... but certainly effective...

You need multi-layered approach of planks, each a bit closer to the water than the last.

In charge of carrying out piracy, or stopping it?
