He was arrested at an airport and sentenced to 25 years in prison for drug trafficking (for the Vicodin, not the marijuana). http://www.sptimes.com/2007/07/26/Hi...ll_in_li.shtml... I can't for the life of me figure out why this guy's trial lawyer didn't move for acquittal at the trial court. The appellate judges seemed similarly perplexed about that. |

Why can't he just put the pot in his pocket? It wouldn't be picked up by the metal detector.
Let it be noted, Your friend is playing with fire if he/she is carrying more than what is considered suitable for personal use. Simple possession is nothing when compared to an intent or trafficking charge. I didn't read this post all the way through because I was so anxious to jump on this topic. Sorry if others have already given the same reply.:) |

I mean, medical marijuana is a joke, it's like crack and coke -- a way for rich people to get around the rules that apply to everyone else, but... whatever. |

I know a 58 yr old accountant who travels with his stash on a regular basis. The key is to carry it on your person. A small amount for personal use would be nearly impossible to detect without the benefit of a strip search. I would recommend wearing a tight pair of underwear and just stuffing the dope.

I have seen dogs in quite a few airports - whether they're drug dogs or explosives dogs, I don't claim to know. |

Personally, I wouldn't take the chance of traveling with pot, but to each his own. |

Yes medical marijuana is a joke. "Pot" is a relatively harmless drug and should be readily available like alcohol. Criminalization of pot is a way for rich people to stay rich and an excuse to violate the rights of the majority. The War on Drugs is political tool and money making machine. The fact that hemp and marijuana are illegal just goes to show how much hypocrisy and ignorance really exist in our society.
