Long SecurityLines at SJU

Apparantly, the AA security line at SJU is closed through the weekend due to renovations. Passengers are being shifted to the other two terminals resulting in very long lines. Today was bad but the weekend should be worse when the cruise ship come in. The usual 5 minute line at 2:00 on Fri was 1 hour today.

Give yourself a lot of time this weekend.

Even with the AA checkpoints online, it's still slow. They run on 'island time' there. :td:

How is the US Customs & Immigrations Station at SJU? Island Time?

Deciding whether to enter at SJU or MIA...

I'd go in at SJU--there aren't nearly as many international flights coming through there as there are in MIA. I think there are only like two big ones..

Slightly faster than island time. Tons of international traffic, but most in itty bitty prop planes :)

The only big international arrivals are IB from Madrid, and Copa from PTY. I think there are ocassional jets from the islands, but they aren't common... maybe an A300 to Aruba, or SDQ (not too certain though, somehow I get stuck on the prop planes for those flights)

C&I was actually pretty quick and a decent experience, except for my friend who had his bag inspected by a royal b!tch customs officer - it just took forever to get bags last time. I'd attribute that one to Island Time.
