RL snakes on a plane prevented

Heard this on the radio this morning:

The animals were confiscated and turned over to the Cairo Zoo and the man was allowed to board his flight home.

Glad Egyptian security caught this. With a cobra in there, this could have been a real disaster.

Super

I almost didn't open this thread for fear of there being a picture. I have such an extreme snake phobia, if I had been around, I would have for sure had some kind of breakdown. Are they allowed on planes in the way cats or dogs are?

Clash of cultures.

That this happened at Cairo is no surprise, especially after watching what kind of stuff people checked and collected at baggage claim.....

Tried to update the thread title so it wouldn't look misleading. Guess it didn't work.

Folks do check some strange stuff, so in this part of the world, I can't say it surprised me either. Rather than someone would be dumb enough to do this. In some 3rd world countries, it wouldn't surprise me to hear of other livestock being attempted/brought on the plane either.

A friend of mine from the old CIS Travsig got on a plane in SE Asia one time, and saw plenty of fowl being brought on board. Caged, fortunately, but still left a distinct odor in the plane.

Sounds like a fowl experience. :D

But, notice, the guy didn't even miss his flight!
