I grew up about 90 mins east of PIT. While we enjoyed the city, my dad refused to drive in it. I think it has one of the poorest freeway systems for a major city. 2 lanes each way mostly with the widest at 3? No thanks.

Those two or three lane highways are what has caused me to never drive out here! I couldn't believe it the first time I saw those 4 or 5 lane freeways!

Despite living no more than 15 miles from the city, my mom waits until I am visiting (3-4 times a year) to go "into downtown" for anything.

Every time the TSA does something stupid, I move my drive/fly perimeter out another 100 miles.

That maneuver would definitely flood my carburetor!

Humm -- In your case, I guess it would be your fly/swim perimeter...

Hehehe I hear you. Sometimes on the DC/Baltimore beltways I wish they'd open up to 6-7 lanes across because traffic's bad. Then I think back to Pittsburgh and think how much worse it could be.

My husband and I don't much care for any of the BS that's associated with the airport, but fly less because of it? NO WAY! I like my home, but I like to travel even better. And you know what? I have pain issues that make it difficult to remove my shoes. I simply tell them I can't, but they have my permission to do so. It's never been a problem! And it doesn't matter which airport I'm flying out of. Maybe somebody needs a vacation?

Better start training for the triathlon, because that's how much endurance one would need.

I'm driving 8+ hours to MYR next week rather than put up with the self-appointed physicians that make up the TSA there.

Because of TSA I haven't flown since Feb. 2005. Won't, either. Reading about the high comedy of those benighted enough to keep on flying is amusing.

Often frightening reading, too. Haven't you noticed the red flags flying at each TSA checkpoint in a 'free' country?

If you haven't, here's your sign: (see below)

"There's a thing called seat covers and toilet paper."

You put toilet paper down on the airplane seat before you sit down???
I commonly leave 1:20 before my flight. It takes 20 minutes to get there, 5 minutes to walk to the elite line and 5 minutes total to go through. I than have another 5-10 minutes to get to the gate. They're usually doing elite boarding by then. Perhaps I'm missing something.
"Must be nice to live near a small airport. "

Yes, SEA is a tiny airport. It's not as if there are ~5M people who live around it. It must be nice to go through life in a fantasy world.

I must be missing something. I've been through Seatac any number of times and found security lines out the door. How do you manage 20 seconds?

Misread your post and corrected it a few posts later.

I call BS as a lot of other people on here would disagree with you.
