COBRA Coming to CLE

Sorry for the crosspost but it seems as appropriate here as the CO forum where it's being discussed. MBM3 saw it first and posted it here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=721989

And the article can be seen here -

Just thought the folks here would want to weigh in.

2 important questions regarding this

1. Given the cost of this new technology, will it be voluntary whether or not you enter that line after coming out of the entrance queue? I love these airports with the expensive toys that make it voluntary to go to the line with the puffer, etc...kind of defeats the purpose. Would a terrorist pick that line?

2. Will this new technology allow the TSA employees to have more time for smoke breaks? I'm concerned there's not enough of them out there in the DSA at any given time. :)

Doesn't seem like it would save me any extra time. I have plenty o ftime to remove my laptop while waiting in the endless line (BWI, I'm pointing to you). If they wanted to make a better investment, I would suggest additional equipment/screeners for overly congested airports or technology that actually permitted the detection of explosive or chemical components so that I can take my full-size shampoo on the plane again.

O/T: When I saw the title to this thread, I thought of the program that extends your company healthcare and the bad guys in GI Joe.
