One for the books

A male pax came through today and divested everything into a tub. X-ray operator stopped the tub because of a lighter and holy cow this guy had even divested his bag of marijuana! Nice brilliance shown on the part of the passenger.

Not that's a good use of govt. money. I thought you guys were looking out for terrorist - not dope smokers.

Possibly a diversionary tactic to help someone else attempt a probe.

Nah. They always put a puppy in the bin to do that.

That's a good point. Was he just forgetful or was it an intentional act as a decoy? I may side more towards forgetful. I hate it for him.

That's pretty dumb.

So, what became of this brilliant passenger?

A friend was going through security at LAS and was sent toward the "puffing" security device. While waiting on line, he noticed a fifty dollar bill on the floor near the tubs. When he pick it up, it opened and coccaine fell out. Obviously being left by someone who felt that the machine would detect.

I believe this story because he is not the type to use drugs or make up stories.

Hilarious. I have to take the contrary on this being a case of TSDEA. It's pretty clear to me that the TSA didn't go looking for drugs on this guy.

He should be arrested; no, not for drug use. Simply because a guy like this is too dangerous to himself to be out in public.

Couldn't get busted for drug use in that situation anyway. In that case, it would be simple possession.

Now he was just being smart. He heard the story about the Portland Blazers' player a few years back who put his foil-wrapped weed down his pants and walked through the metal detector. This guy was just trying to avoid having that happen...

Either that or he knew that TSA misses most things like bombs and weapons in their search for shampoo and figured his odds of getting it thru would be good.

Should have just kept it in his pocket and they never would have known.
