Passenger Arrested After Plane Diverted to Philly

...............According to authorities, a passenger became unruly over service on the plane and attacked a flight attendant. He apparently wanted some apple juice and did not get it fast enough.............

Perhaps if he were allowed to carry on apple juice this could have been avoided :p

Shame on him. He wasn't good enough when he was assaulted with flight attendant today. He wanted more apple juice after when she say no to him. He should be wait for reachable in 30,000 feet. Then he will give served the drinks during on mid-flight. He wasn't allowable to do that attacks by flight attendant. He could be spent in the prison for more than 20 years. That mean he can't do that when he was trying attacks by flight attendant. How the passengers was restraining him then the pilots was heard the man was attacked them. Does Air marshal was there onboard by comair from LGA-GSO?

I don't know if the marshals work the small jets or not. Delta Connection flights seem to be pretty consistent about serving drinks in the air, though. Someone needs a lesson in how to wait their turn.

This is incredible. I'd be tempted to smack him myself. Not only did he assault an FA, he delayed a whole plane full of people. All for some apple juice. This guy deserves some time for being an idiot.

The guy should definitely be smacked, but your last statement has a lot of merit to it.

I think he needs a little more than a smacking. I'd like to see him barred from flying due to his unstable mental condition. Want to be an idiot? Welcome to the world of Greyhound.

I feel that when people are held accountable for their actions in a real and meaningful way, maybe we will have more civility in the skies.

Good idea. Let's start with TSA first.

I don't disagree that there are several in TSA who deserve the same fate.

But this guy endangered lives due to his own sense of entitlement, not to mention the fact that he assaulted a flight crew member. I'd say that pretty much makes him a menace in the air, and therefore (if I were king for a day), he would have lost his right to fly.

And...I wholeheartedly agree that quite a few TSA workers and supervisors need some immediate training in dealing with people. But, this incident really has nothing to do with the TSA.

While I don't disagree, I think that's up to the airline and the judge as to his fate with regards to flying.

Let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Haven't you ever wanted apple juice immediately? Nothing else will do when that craving strikes.

The link has no been updated with what appears at first glance (and in the abscence of more in depth reporting) this simply astonishing statement.

................Passengers were allowed to leave the plane shortly after 5:30. The suspect was taken into custody, but authorities decided later not to file any charges against him...................

The 51 passengers who were aboard the plane at the time will be spending the night in Philadelphia.

What's astonishing? That the airline employees made a mistake?

Yes that is it. Well spotted ;)

Perhaps we are not getting the full story, but if this person did attack an FA, then he should be punished.

Some of the comments above might have been tongue-in-cheek about the TSA and their foolish liquids ban, but I'm waiting for the story of the flight that sits on the ground for 6+ hours, and some poor parent runs out of milk or water to mix formula for their child and ends up having to get into some sort of altercation to provide for their child's needs

Right. When the passengers wait their turn the F/A is serving the drinks. Don't wait when he was telling the F/A to get the drinks. They need to be patients during F/A their job in the mid-air. Yes, I think they should need to learn more lesson to be respectable to F/A. They need to listening the F/A to do following the rules during on the flight. They need to understanding the safety rules.
