How should security be done? Discussion Q

Swampy reads a lot of complaints in this forum about security procedures at airports, some of which he agrees with, some of which he does not.

So he wishes to pose this question.

Given that threats against airliners seem to be real, how should the government and others be handling airport security? How can it be made more effective, and less intrusive?

Swampy should use the search feature to access 5+ years of suggestions. @:-)

Welcome to the forums swampy. Also, welcome to people who will ramble on about the search feature as they can't provide any positive suggestions of their own. Best of luck in getting the question answered. People would prefer to just complain.

Guess again, sport.

The search feature works. It's not my fault if you (not Swampy) are too lazy to use it.

Spiff is correct. There are several threads which deal with this subject over the past couple of years.

On the other hand, there seem to be many instances on the FT forums where similar or even the same subjects are brought up again and again. Granted some may be in "slightly" different form, but that has not seemed to be an issue in the past. But I guess proper web use "guidelines" do suggest finding a previous topic and posting there.

may be OP can use the search feature and

"Guess again Sport" ... thats funny to me.. my grandfather would call me "Sport" when he had most likely had enough of my childhood questions...
"Look Sport I already told you... I dont know how to do long division...go ask Grandma..."
OK sorry got off point...

Come one ... the complaints are a way to blow off some steam ... and you have to admit.. some of these ... Umm... 20 liners are :) hilarious...

Besides, Spiff, you should know that the correct term is "cupcake," not "sport."

That'd be very sporting. And perhaps it could be used to even get a government contract. :D

It sounds like a good thing.... I dont think the government would be interested
in that... unless there is a multi billion $$ no-bid contract involved and the
efficiency and logic taken away.... wait.. we already have this.... TSA.. right?

Swampy, as you've gathered, the Internet Freedom Fighters are too busy hating and opposing to have any constructive ideas.

They have to shout you down for even asking. It's a closed community.
