I didn't hope for much but I am looking for the airport - I think someone asked for it's name - but I can't find it. Also I wished that he had mentioned his post #12 in PUNKI's 2002 thread describing a somewhat similar situation involving a purse instead of a rubberband ball. So what airport was it?

[QUOTE=aircraft engineer;6905953]Oh, I wholeheartedly AGREE - NOW find a JURY that will LISTEN. If Customs destroys something and finds no contraband they won't have to pay either. It's the doctrine of "suspicion" (we thought we saw something...) and trying to get past a JUDGE (probably easier to get by a JURY) is going to be "difficult" - and that's being "kind"./QUOTE]

You have not got the faintest idea about what you are writing.

time for this thread to go away

Hey Everybody,

Thank you for your support (most of you, anyway) but I think it's time for this thread to die. Everyone who wanted to had a chance to speak their mind and what I was hoping to accomplish has been done.

I wasn't looking for approval, or validation, or even trying to cause trouble. I just wanted to share my unique (which sadly doesn't seem so unique anymore) experience to help others avoid it. This whole experience has ranged from crumby at best, to really awful most of the time.

Two points to clarify before I ask this to end:

1. The airport in question has never been mentioned by me ever on FT. And it won't be. Please respect my right to privacy and don't PM me asking about it either. Thanks.

2. When this happened I was traveling on my own. I was "John Q. Public." I was using a regular ticket like anyone else. I was not on an "industry ticket" or a "pass" or anything else. I was doing what any other member of the traveling public was doing that day...paying to get somewhere.

Regardless of how you feel about all this, it shouldn't reflect poorly on my employer. They had nothing to do with any of it. They have stayed out of it (they don't have a dog in this fight) and I appreciate that. It's just me and he TSA and the LEO and I don't want to sue. I think I could, but I don't want to. I'm sorry if that offends you...if you want to sue the TSA, knock yourselves out. I am choosing not to.

I have PM'd the mods and asked them to lock this thread down. I hope they will. No hard feelings all the way around.

I remain, your FT friend,
-eastwest

Oh ,I wasn't asking you for the name of the airport - just seeing if anyone on this Board knew. And if you were referring to me, I won't be PMing you. This has been a very interesting thread. You should feel good about starting a thread that has amassed such a large number of posts and has been of such great interest to so many people. For entertainment it was special. Thousands have read it. Many probably looked forward to getting home from work so they could read the day's episode . Anyway, I think you are right, so:

Mr. Moderator: I second eastwest's proposal that this thread be closed.
