I personally brought through a large metal tin labeled "Dog Biscuits", with, as you might guess, dog biscuits inside. (I was flying right after Christmas, and the decorative tin was on clearance at Restoration Hardware.) I was prepared for, even hoping for, questions or comments, but no one said anything.

It is October, so maybe she was taking the Great Pumpkin for a ride? :D

More important, did it fit in the "Size Wise" carry-on bag size compliane tool? :D

Just think, she could have injected that pumpkin completely full of liquid explosives, and no one would be the wiser. Ban pumpkins now, or force them into one-quart baggies! @:-) :D

I see you also find the snack mix / pretzels inadequate. ;)

ROFL!

:D Upscale dog biscuits >>>> lousy snack box. (I forget which airline this was, WN I think.)

This just in:
Pumpkins are OK.
Jack-o-Laterns are forbidden.
Pumpkin pies are OK only if you brought enough for everyone.

yes, She can take the pumpkin for the ride. ^ ^ I think definitely would be fine from TSA. It does not have problems with security at airport when they taking the pumpkin to go ahead for travel out there. :)

Perhaps we should all demonstrate resistance to the current crazy environment by carrying pumpkins labeled "Kip Hawley is an idiot" ;)

I once saw a woman stopped at security for having about 3 frying pans in her carry on bags. Not sure if they allowed her to bring them on the plane.

That's funny... On the way to a civil war reenactment early one morning, I ended up having to do a quick reshuffle of items in my bags at the ticket counter when one of my cases turned up 12 lbs. overweight... When I got it all sorted out, my two bags checked, and I headed for screening with my carry-on...

...only to draw really odd looks from the x-ray guy. Turns out I'd made weight on checked bags by shoving a 12" cast iron frypan and it's lid into my rollaboard. When asked by the TSA guy what that was for I started to explain....and when I got to "civil war reenactment" he just shook his head and waved me on through...

It wasn't till I got to Antietem that I really thought it through...
The hell with a box cutter, A cast iron pan and it's lid is a dandy substitute for a mace and shield! :D

When I was 10 years old and living in Maryland I had grown some pumpkins in our backyard. I gave one of the pumpkins to my aunt who was visiting us from San Diego. When she left she made sure she had that pumpkin as she headed off to the airport, maybe the lady in SLC found herself in a similar predicament

Why not carve the scariest face you can on your pumpkin, then simply label it "Kip Hawley" with an arrow pointing to the scary face! Put a flashlight inside with a red filter on it for the full effect! :D
