Another case of comics

Heard this on our local tv stations: A USAIRWAYS flight (express I think) CLE to CLT yesterday a psgr on board had nail polish & was doing her nails. She was told by the f/a that she couldn't have that. Anyway the flt was meet upon arrival at CLT by TSA & law enforcement. At some point the lady kicked a tsa agent. She was arrested & charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest & comm. threats.
Now I want to make it very clear I do not agree in any way with the actions of this lady..but come on this lady was "doing her nails".
What is a matter with all of us ? These terrorists are winning every day.

Gotta disagree, coach. What are they "winning"?

Kicking any TSAer is uncalled for.

But to have the TSA and Law Enforcement waiting for you over nail polish is pretty stupid.

On my flight last night from BOS, we almost had an incident over a caramel apple.

She could claim both self defence and that she was acting in the interest of national security. Since in a free democratic society like the United States, a group of police and government agents would never confront a citizen for doing her nails, she could legitimately assume these people were imposters, terrorists who had fraudulently obtained uniforms, weapons and ID cards. As a patriot and a hero, she tried to fight off these foreign invaders.

Turning in our fellow citizens for polishing their nails? Ridiculous.

.... and this is just the beginning.

That is pretty much the reason I even posted this. And when we are turning against each other every day over this stupid non sense yes the terrorists are winning.....
I've been on vac. I dread going back into all this non sense.

Terrorism: the systematic use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9071797

Yep, when we change our way of life, restrict freedoms, and move away from the classically liberal ideas of our founders and towards a restrictive, autocratic regiem -- the terrorists have won.

Applying nail polish on a plane? If I were sitting beside her, I wouldn't have been too unhappy to see this result, albeit for completely different reasons. :D

(Yes, their actions were totally uncalled for...)

No sharp objects means just that.

To TSA, this lady was a decoy and diversion. She was deliberately using an acetone containing product. In case someone smelled acetone, there would be an explanation. While the pax and FAs are harassing her, no one notices her partner in the seat behind her setting up his Jihad Joe Portable Chemistry Lab in an ice bucket to do a two hour synthesis of acetone peroxide. Apparently he got away. Another possible maybe terrorist plot narrowly thwarted.

Send that lady to Gitmo without any nail files or polish. In two weeks she'll talk! ^

TSA has been watching too many Mission Impossible shows. Everything is a giant elaborate conspiracy. Nothing is what it seems.

Too bad some clerk at TSA put "Occam's razor" on the Prohibited List.

I guess there have been enough reports about nail polish to know that information is probably accurate, but I think I would wait for the trial to hear what has to be said about the kicking incident!
