Complaint form is SSI?
I had a shoe battle today at EWR (Terminal B, center satellite) and requested a complaint form. I planned to complete it at my leisure and mail it later to the FSD. The very nice three-striper, Mike, said that the form is SSI and couldn't be taken from the checkpoint.
I agreed that a completed complaint form might very well be SSI, but I couldn't see how a blank form could be. Mike insisted that his bosses told him that the form itself, even blank, was SSI. This was a new one for me. Anybody else have any thoughts on this? Bruce |

And the government lies again to the American people..... I love this administration!

Yeah, the form has SSI on it. I have the form here at home though. :D
Plan on putting it on the shoe carnival website. I'm impressed you actually got a form at EWR. Most places don't give them out. Which is why, of course, I bring my own. :D |

Bruce I also don't know how other airports do it, but we just give away complaint forms in a pre-addressed envelope, and they can do whatever... |
This is a new one. I've done this job for 3 years and I've never heard that. We were just talking about putting them at the gates so people don't feel intimidated asking for one. Saying their SSI is a bunch of BS. I think supervisors that don't want to give them out have probably been warned about the things they do and don't want any more complaints going to the office about them. But that's just my opinion. Anyway, you can always go to another checkpoint and ask for one.

...and send it in, and get a form letter of apology.
Or you can pound sand. Equal results, but the sand isn't SSI... |
You were lied to by a screener at EWR? I am shocked :) Well, actually I have to say at least they are consistent - even if they are consistently bad.
I would like to see a copy of the form uploaded on the new website Superguy is doing. However, I have to wonder how the screeners would react at some of these airports if you whipped a copy of the form out of your bag in their view and began writing down their badge numbers. That could get ugly. |

I picked up a form at ABQ on Friday afternoon. They had them folded to fit into envelopes and in a stack that said, "Please take one!"
There is a line at the bottom that reads something like, "Portions of this form are SSI" or something to that effect. The only justification I could see for them saying that would be that if you fill it out, you could supply info about the screening process they consider SSI... but since anyone can see that with their own two eyes, how is is truly SSI?! I saved the form so I can make some copies :D I do plan to complement the ABQ and BUR TSA, but I'm sure I'll need to complain about the IAD one over the next few weeks. |

I'm going to ask for a complaint form next time I'm at LAX. But I think I'll wait until I've been cleared to leave the checkpoint before I approach the supervisor/podium attendant for a form. Don't want to increase my checkpoint detention time for asking for secret form.
