I read the "letter to the editor", and the follow-up article. Quite a few inconsistencies between the two. IMHO this guy probably had a "bad" airport day and thought he'd "get back" at us.

What really gets me is the fact this guy gets all of this attention, while the removal of the FSD & AFSD gets none.

Would you care to elaborate on the "quite a few inconsistencies"? At least the ones that are material to the question at hand.

Are you saying that the proper procedure was being followed and the "procedure expert" assumptions were wrong about what was happening?

A good way to deflect the issue at hand is to attack the messenger and not address the question raised. Are you willing to say that from your observations while working at RDU that the procedures for checking the waiting times were properly followed? If you are not willing to address that issue, is it solely because you have been asked to provide a statement to investigators?

I have to add my experiences with the timing card at RDU. I have been selected three times to carry the card through and it was after I had the ID checked and when the line was very short. I have not seen anyone handing out cards at the peak periods when you may have 10-15 minutes just to get to the ID checker and then another 10-15 minutes to get to the detector.

I always thought that this is a great way to cook the books because the total time spent in line for all my three trips was probably about 10 minutes.

Not trying to deflect or attack. Just saying that I don't believe his entire story.

You still in A? BTW, I usually go throught the Southwest security area in north A because the line is almost always shorter. I have not had to take off my non-profile shoes there but have been waved over for the secondary at C, but not recently, so maybe things are getting more consistent and reasonable.

I'm at the Southwest security area now (cp B). You've probably seen me. We try to keep your shoes on at my checkpoint :)
