Absolutely 100% wrong.

My policy: you choose to unpack it, you repack it. Any TSA employee that doesn't like it can get off the public dole and quit.

Except the TSA guy likely doesn't know exactly how you packed it and thus can't do a good job without taking a lot of time.

I provide verbal assistance and I have plenty of time. ;)

Time is money. The only people who are injured by "taking your time" are your fellow pax who need the space to repack as well. The Officers individually, could care less if you spend the rest of the day repacking.

Unfortunately, a lot of the passive agressive stuff that goes on with respect to TSA, doesn't matter to TSA, just the guy behind you. And, he's just a working stiff like you, trying to get home to see his kids.
Exactly. Take the political battle (if you choose) to where it counts, let the rest of us get to work/home please.

I do not care if anyone has to wait a minute, but I pack mine myself without complaint. My tool bag has a place for everything and everything must be in place or the lid will not close without possible damage. I do not mind repacking. It also gives me a chance to make sure everything is there.

Repacking is reasonable, reassembling your vehicle is not.

Even worse, if you happen to be flying a private plane and they choose to disassemble it, you will have to hire an FAA-licensed A&P to reassemble it. At your cost.

Why would you bump a five-year old thread just to make a snotty comment?

That's utterly insane.

If they don't find anything they should pay, period.
