Well, we'll have to wait for the Gilmore case to run its course to see, won't we? Your agency won't say whether it is required by law or not. Secret law is a bit of a pain, isn't it? ;)

Back off the TSA

I am amazed sometimes to hear the anti-TSA rantings of some flyers?

First off don;t blame the front line agents for stupid policies. They are told to enforce certain rules and do it whether the rules make sense or not. Your Joe Blow police officer enforces the laws written by politicans, he doesn't pick and choose what to enforce (or at least shouldn't).

2. In any organization there will be good employees and bad ones. Don't pick one incident that happened to you and based on that one incident paint all TSA employees as being the same.

3. Were you happier with the pre-TSA $7 an hour security we had? I know I wasn't.

I have personally never had any problems with the TSA and I fly every week. Some TSA employees are friendlier but that's about it. I follow the rules, don't try to be a jackass and all works well. If you are a jerk, are beligerent, have a me vs them attitude to start with, you will cause trouble.

So in short, chill out, take your shoes off, take your belt off, go through the machine and get on with your life.

I was much happier, or perhaps it would be better to say a lot less annoyed by the previous method of airport security than the current method. And I believe I was just as secure.

If you are the type of person who freely gives up your liberties and doesn't give a thought as to how we got those liberties or what it is like to live in a place that doesn't have our liberties, then you will be fine at the airport. The rest of us will continue to fight back in whatever way possible.

Why weren't you happy with security before TSA. Security did nothing wrong at on 9/11 to warrent turning airport security over to the government.

The government and airlines made the list of things allowed on and off a plane before TSA. The government made the procedures for how a hijacking will be handled.

Sure box cutters were used to take control of the flight crew, but then again it was procedure to work with terrorists in a hijack situation rather then fight them before pre Tsa.

Read what people post, it's more then just one event that usually causes the problem.
