Getting off the watch list
I have been on some sort of watch list which prevents me from checking in on-line or through kiosks with Continental Airlines since early December. I fly more than 100 segments per year on CO, so I don't know why I am on this list. Anyways, after this happened for the 4th time in December, the CO agent gave me a memo telling me to call TSA and initiate a procedure to get off the list. The TSA says this would take 45 days from the time that I fill out some paper work. However, I have yet to receive any paperwork or other documentation from TSA with regards to this, and the check in snafus at CO continue.
One strange thing is that when I check in for other airlines, I'm not on any watch list and see no problems or delays checking in on-line or through their respective kiosks. So it looks like this watch list has some loopholes. To be honest, I haven't figured out if this is a CO or a TSA problem that is causing this annoyance. I wonder if I should just get a new frequent flier account at CO and see if that causes me the same watch list problems. |
If you are not having problems with any other airline (and not being SSSSed when you fly with them) I would presume that CO has made a mistake.
