I personally think it is a shame you eat there. You should be allowed to or made to go else where to eat...for sanitary reasons as well as public perception...If I saw that I might think darn they are eating why aren't the lines shorter?...and a person needs a break from the work environment with out the general public breathing on your turkey on rye. Even if you took your lunch to a nearby concourse or airport restaurant seems better for everybody.... :-:

So what would you suggest then for us who bring our own lunch? Eat at the food court anyway?

I am a brown bagger too..and yep until the remodeling is complete and since your breakroom is in BFE I think the food court is where I think you should go. I don't know which airport you are at but in ATL you see tons of TSA brown baggers there..and as a single traveler most of the time...that is usually who I sit with to eat! I really think eating in the security area is a horrible impression. Case in point...do you see how long you have to defend your job for those slackers you do work with while you are doing your job? Why give FFers more of that bad impression?

And I know you had a :) for this but I think the point in my other post about giving credit where credit is do has been missed or (and no offense) you might have a chip on your shoulder for having to defend yourself all the time. I might be a rare breed for you to deal with...I am actually one of those people that write letters about GOOD workers along with the BAD BAD BAD workers! :)

Let me be the first to assure you that we, the traveling public, feel your pain. Getting through the checkpoint is great, isn't it? :o

ORD is actually one of the most passenger-friendly airports in the US. NEVER have been told to take off my shoes. If you beep, you get a second chance to go through. After the initial checking of the boarding pass and ID, no requirement to show it again until you are boarding your plane.

My experiences are with the UA and AA terminals.

I can testify to the above. The one thing is that, compared to other airports, all the WTMDs at T1 (UA) are set at a higher level with the exception of one.

Nor are there shoe sniffers.

I am glad to hear it!!! just hope the weather cooperates when I am there..glad I am not going like tomorrow!
