"The two-part problem is this. First, inspecting people who clearly do not pose a threat distracts attention from those who could pose a threat. Second, the notion that TSA can subject the public to regulations that are not made public is ludicrous. It's like citing a motorist for speeding with the speed limit signs all covered.


The Transportation Security Administration has not provided real and responsible security to our nation's airlines and airports. Playing hide and seek with the regulations and subjecting innocents to absurd inspections in the name of political correctness is simply a waste of time and money.


And that's the Point.

I did and I hope many others will make as much noise about this disgusting pat-down behavior so it will end soon. If this behavior by the TSA were committed outside the airport, they'd be in jail for molestation. Won't show us the regulations, won't answer legitimate questions - sounds like the KGB to me. I still want to know how much dangerous contraband has been found during these pat-downs. Oh yeah I forgot, that's classified.

I sent Mr Hyman an online comment. Time for this foolishness to cease.

Agree with the second point about SSI regulations. Definitely disagree with the first point, though...you can't tell by looking at someone that they "clearly aren't a threat." Criminals are smarter than to use someone who does look like a threat, besides.

What about the elete status, etc. that clearly is indicated on boarding pass and all other documentation?

Elite status can be purchased, by bad guys as well as good. I don't think it's acceptable to treat any flyer the way that I've been treated at checkpoints. Not any flyer. No one. I'm not going to fight rampant TSA abuse of passengers by saying, "Don't abuse me - abuse that guy over there!"

If there are bad guys plotting against us, they could do much more damage than 9/11 without ever getting near an airport. The focus of our efforts should be on catching the bad guys before they show up to the terminal, not on palpating the breasts of millions of innocent women. Airport hysteria is worse than useless: it's diverting resources from intelligence and law enforcement efforts that might actually make us safer.
