"security" at AUS

Sorry, I just had to post this--mainly because I was laughing so hard when it happened that I almost wet myself.

I was flying AUS-DFW-DEN last tuesday on AA. checked in at the automoated kiosk and got two boarding passes. Stuffed one in my bag and put the other one in my pocket with my drivers license. Went to the line and gave them my boarding pass and ID. They closely checked my id, checked my boarding pass, and then sent me through the metal detector. At the metal detector, I removed my two laptops and coat and sent them through the xray machine. The friendly TSA person told me to "take your shoes off or you will go to secondary screening". Being the good drone I am, I took them off and sent them through. After leaving the screening area, I was putting everything away when I looked at the boarding pass they had so carefully examined.

It was the DFW-DEN boarding pass. They had let me through security without a valid boarding pass for the airport that I was in!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

boy do I feel secure!

As if that has anything to do with security.

The only reason they check your BP is so that they don't have to slow down the lines screening people who aren't flying that day. It has nothing to do with security.

So if you were SSSS, would they mark that on both boarding passes?

Oh, right, forgot about haraSSSSment for a brief, blissful second.

Yes they do, and the TSA is supposed to stamp or punch both BPs.
