Are socket and wrench sets allowed through security. I am talking about a 62 piece socket set and 14 piece wrench set? Thanks!

LOL!! I didn't even think of that. Its for some folks in Europe. Not sure if I would trust this being checked. I thought for sure it would be olk to carryon.

Nope, no tools in carry-on. Make sure it is metric...

We are living in some pretty pathetic times. Hello 1984.

Let's see, here are your options thanks to our fine U.S. Government:

1. Try to carry them on and you will be detained and fined. A screener will steal the tools from the confiscation bin, so go ahead and contest the fine because the TSA won't be able to produce the evidence;

2. Put the tools in your checked luggage. Your baggage will be searched and your tools will be missing upon arrival - and your copy of Playboy as well. You'll suspect a screener stole your tools, file a claim, and 30 years later, you'll get a letter stating that the government isn't responsible and you'll have to file a claim with the airline, which, of course, is no longer in business; or,

3. Ship them commercially. Since tools are so heavy, the shipping costs will be 3 times the value of the tools, but less than either the cost of replacing them after they've been stolen by the tSA or the cost of the fine.

Funny thing happened @ work today. A guy had a "brick" in a small canvas bag. I was on the X-ray and called a bag check. My "so-called" supervisor came over, saw what it was, and was gonna let it pass, when the next pax started raving "I don't want that on MY plane" !!!! Then the "sup" recanted and said "no go". Needless to say, the sh*t hit the fan then. The guy with the brick stood at then end of the x-ray for at least 10 minutes, trying to get his brick on board.

I assume the brick was special being personalized or maybe the first one for his new house. I have wondered about the brick problem but cannot figure why someone would bring an ordinary brick so assume it must be an antique or personalized like I have for the kids at the local Durham Bulls Athletic Park. If so, somewhere there is a hole in the pavement.

The brick in question was a commemorative that the pax had received. It was engraved very nicely, and would've looked good sitting on his office desk. But after the lady saw it (and sh*t a brick), and my sup (sh*t a brick) and recanted, the gentleman then proceeded to sh*t a couple more. I'd have ripped into him or her with language that would have made Joe Pesci blush.

A brick? Gimme a break. I can grab the fire extinguisher or the first aid kit and do just as much or even more damage. The supervisor and the other passenger are two of the stupidest people on the planet.

It's the only way to teach people not to be idiots who are afraid of there own shadow. Somehow, I doubt this woman was so indispensible to humanity that the world would be unable to go on if the brick carrying passenger decided to "go postal" on the flight.

It is people like this who have travel so much less pleasant than it used to be. if you are going to be a stupid idiot who is afraid of your own shadow, stay home and watch CNN while safely under the covers.

I would have helped you to "stone" that darn woman. If she's gonna be afraid of a brick, let's give her a real reason/experience to be afraid of it.

That stupid person that did not want the brick on their plane needs to be smacked up the side of the head with a brick. And since that is gone, I would have gladly donated my notebook computer to beat her senseless.

What a moron. And even more so with the TSA guy that allowed her to carry on (or not in this matter).

I want to scream. Stop the planet, I want to get off.
