Found out something today, that I was not aware of. Any American citizen has the right, and the ability, to request a copy of any SSI document.

Freedom of Information Act?

As a citizen, I have the right and the ability to ask the CIA for a copy of the president's daddy's daily briefing, but that doesn't mean they have to give it to me.

SSI information can only be released to persons who have a "Need to know" the information. You can request the information through the FOIA but don't expect anything for about 4 months if it is released and don't think there will be information in it. The great magic marker trick will probably be used.

I've seen TSA SSI documents requested via the FOIA -- marked up extensively -- practically useless. Oddly enough, the TSA had no difficulities releasing SSI information to about 20,000 screeners with incomplete background checks -- many of whom were later dismissed because they were found to have criminal backgrounds.

If only Osama could learn the deep secrets of the shoe, he could own this country.
