Kudos to the TSA at Chicago-Midway

When I passed through security at Chicago-Midway yesterday, the person in front of me appeared to be mentally retarded or handicapped in some way (possibly Down Syndrome, but I am not a physician). I want to congratulate the TSA agent at the checkpoint who worked with this passenger. He was incredibly kind and patient, and in a very friendly way helped this passenger through a process that might otherwise have been scary and intimidating. (I did not catch the TSA agents name, but he was an Asian man of about 40-50 years of age. in case anyone who works at Midway can identify him and pass along a few kind words).

I know that saying anything nice about the TSA tends to get you flamed on this board, but I think that when an TSA agent acts the way this gentleman did, he deserves to be praised and thanked.

I agree with you. There are LOTS of nice TSA agents.

There are also a few rotten apples.

But I do applaud this nice gesture. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...m/thumbsup.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...m/thumbsup.gif

I agree. There are many "nice" TSA screeners. Had a chat with two different TSA'ers at SYR in July.

I didn't know CameraGuy was at MDW recently. Good to see he got the help he needed. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...um/biggrin.gif

WOOOOOOOooooo, very cold dig.

CameraGuy, hope you can see the humor. If it was directed at me, I'd laugh it off. Ott's funny, that one http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...um/biggrin.gif

I concur that the majority of the TSA are very nice people.

What I can't stand are the remaining private-contractors (mostly maze minders) and a shoe policy that makes no sense.

That was a good one. It is nice to see that you guys can actually say something nice about the TSA agents from time to time. There are bad apples out there for sure. To lump the good guys into the same basket as the bad is unfair. The next agent you show contempt for could be one of the good ones who is undeserving of your rath. You might want to wait to see how you are treated before showing the contempt that is hiding behind that forced smile.

I show NO contempt for the screeners, I allow them to do their screening and then ask for the Screening Manager is something has bothered me.

Given your posts on Flyertalk, I somehow find this very hard to believe.
