It's disappointing that the victim in this incident is not planning to press charges against the screener.

If I were the victim here, it wouldn't matter to me that the guy was fired because of this. I would tell the police that I wanted to press charges to the maximum extent possible, if for no other reason than to make an example of this jerk. People like this are part of the reason that the TSA has gotten a bad reputation, and they should be sought out and terminated at the earliest possible time.

Sorry Spiff.........but we're still doing it @ RDU also. I must agree with you here. Waste of time & effort.

We do it here too, but only on flights going to the United States.

BTW Spiff.........no more gate screening @ RDU as of Weds. of this week. New directive. Selectee lane. Full open bag search, and mandatory hand wanding of each and every selectee.
