This is a crackup....sort of...

http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/21...his_bag+.shtml

"A Paxton teenager was arraigned on a felony charge yesterday morning after he and his family were removed from a plane bound for Hawaii following the discovery of a profanity-filled note referencing a bomb in his luggage examined at Logan International Airport."

"According to the police report, the note, which was placed on top of clothes in a black gym bag read: ''[Expletive] you. Stay the [expletive] out of my bag you [expletive] sucker. Have you found a [expletive] bomb yet? No, just clothes. Am I right? Yea, so [expletive] you.''

''There was no commotion whatsoever,'' Davis said. ''But when [we] see the word `bomb,' we take it very seriously. In today's security environment, there's no room for that sort of joking.''

It isn't like the kid had a post-it not taped to his socks saying "this is a bomb!" The poor kid was just venting and passing on a nice note to the people searching his bag.

I've got a dictionary; It has the word bomb in it. Can I take that on an airplane?

To bad this didn't happen in Singapore.

Wally Bird Aug 3, 2003 10:09 am

What threat ? What 'joke' ?

Was this a sensible note to leave ?
Of course not, but he is actually being charged for 'contempt of TSA', which is a very serious crime indeed. Sigh.

USA Regime Change -- Nov 2, 2004.

CameraGuy Aug 4, 2003 9:00 am

Yep, we need to COMPLETELY remove the Democrats, STARTING with Comrade Daschle.

Do some historical checking. The TSA is Daschle's baby. He, using the post 9/11 hysteria, shoved it down the Republican's throats.

Spiff Aug 4, 2003 10:29 am

This disgrace of an agency was largely brought about by the efforts of Comrade Daschle.

However, many Republicans also voted for this agency and President Bush continues to support their asinine efforts.

A non-partisan message needs to be sent in 2004: promote fascism, lose your job!

Let's see, we have a REPUBLICAN President.
Then we have a REPUBLICAN Vice President (who votes in case of a tie in the Senate.)
And a REPUBLICAN majority Senate,
which means all the major committees are chaired by REPUBLICANS,
And a REPUBLICAN majority House.
The majority of the Supreme Court Justices were appointed by REPUBLICAN Presidents.
The head of the REPUBLICAN created HomeLand Security Agency is a former REPUBLICAN Governer, appointed by a REPUBLICAN President.

What's that? The TSA is messed up? Why it must be those damm democrats and Tom Daschel's fault.

FliesWay2Much Aug 4, 2003 2:46 pm

Notice that I didn't specify a particular political party. Both are part of the "regime" that needs changing.

CameraGuy Aug 4, 2003 6:01 pm

getreal (or whoever you REALLY are),

As I stated, Comrade Daschle and the Democrats used the post-9/11 hysteria to force this joke of an agency down our throats.

Check your history, the REPUBLICANS wanted better federal overisght of PRIVATE screeners, Comrade Daschle, seeing a golden opportunity to add 100,000 more voters to the government payroll, would have NONE of that. He threatened a filibuster on any bill that did not include FEDERAL Screeners.

Yes, the Republicans caved. I wish they had not, but they did. BUT, at least I am smart enough to see where the blame for this joke of an agency lies.

P.S.,

Do some more homework and you will see that Norman "Moron" Minetta was in charge of the initial setup of the TSA. Last time I checked, he was a DEMOCRAT.

Stop drinking the Fox News Kool-Aid, and use your brain. What part of these do you not understand:

We have a REPUBLICAN President.
We have a REPUBLICAN Vice President (who votes in case of a tie in the Senate.)
A REPUBLICAN majority Senate,
which means all the major committees are chaired by REPUBLICANS,
And a REPUBLICAN majority House.
The majority of the Supreme Court Justices were appointed by REPUBLICAN Presidents.
The head of the REPUBLICAN created HomeLand Security Agency is a former REPUBLICAN Governer, appointed by a REPUBLICAN President.
The Head of the TSA, is a REPUBLICAN appointed by a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.
The REPUBLICANS are in charge of the budget.

I believe we still live in a democracy, (despite the passing of PATRIOT I and PATRIOT II Acts by the REPUBLICANS), where majority rules.

Creation of the TSA was voted on, was it not?

SO, how is any of this the fault of the minority of democrats?

I guess this is the same logic that allows people to conclude that Bush's State of the Union Address contained false statements (ie. lies). Was it Bush's fault? No. Was it his advisors fault? No. Was it his speech writers fault? No. The conclusion by the White House - It was all Clinton's fault!

CameraGuy Aug 5, 2003 8:00 am

Typical Liberal.

Ignore the facts and spew crap.

GetReal Aug 5, 2003 8:51 am

Typical Fox News Listener Response. Resort to name calling when called out on their supposed "facts".

So which one of these statements are "spewing crap"? Your last informative post really didn't dispute any of these facts. Maybe you can blame Hillary!
