HNL Security
This wasn't "in the news" just my personal observation. I apologize in advance if in the wrong forum (I can't find OMNI!)
HNL has your bags screened once before check-in to make sure you're not taking back any trinkets you dug up or found in the ocean. Then you check in and carry them again to the regular TSA screen (even those traveling in F which peeved me! They had a porter do it for us in FLL) and I watched until the bags got through while one TSA told me three times that I "..didn't have to do that...we'll take care of them." I can't lock my bags anymore so I just ignored her. Then after all that, you go through the regular boarding screen. Show ID and boarding pass. 10 feet later as you walk through the metal detector you have to show BOTH all over again! Bad enough for elite members....I can't imagine this junk waiting all day if flying in coach. Just a heads up. Mahalo. |
If you just have carry on,
1) grab pass from elite checkin line or however 2) go to the elite line for the metal detector screening. |
This isn't the right forum. I am transferring this to Safety & Security in the FT Travel forum. Thanks
