travelling with a toner cartridge - problems ?

Has anybody had any problems with current security measures and a toner cartridge in the checked luggage ?
Does the toner set off any sensors ? What would they do ? Take it apart ?
The cartridge is for a laser printer and is the size of maybe 2 cereal boxes.

Thanks !

I'm not aware of any problems but can imagine that when x-rayed it would be nearly opaque and the TSA hates big opaque images. That will always get a bag search and who knows what they'll do if they can't open it. Hey, tell them to open it..imagine what that will do to all those white shirts!

Yeah, I was thinking something similiar
I guess I'll put it in my carry on. I don't want them to open my suitcase.

Thanks.

Why travel with a toner cartridge? Can you ship it via UPS or equivalent? And doesn't the related printer already have one?

Just to follow up on my own question: I carried the cartridge on. I casually mentioned it at the security check and they said - not a problem. It was swiped after x-ray but did not raise anything.

It was a replacement cartridge which I had laying around anyway. Yes shipping would have been an option but it worked out fine.

Thanks for your comments.
