Corn Starch Retail Box Security

I bought a small box of corn starch from a retail store on my flight home, but last minute travel changes require me to make a few stops before heading home.

Twice already, TSA has flagged the corn starch. I honestly should just throw away for the sake of convenience after the first instance, but thought I could head straight home, instead of getting some after I'd get home. Now I am rethinking my decision...lol

Have two more instances where I need to go through security. Is there any harmful effects to the corn starch for going through security scan?

Section 107 Apr 15, 2024 5:34 pm

TSA does not like powders in quantities greater than 12 ounces/350ml in the cabin because in certain circumstances the powders can pose a risk of dust explosion or other fire hazard.

There is no risk to the corn starch from the screening machine or from being tested/swabbed for ETD.
