Apple Watch residue sets off full body scanner
I have an Apple Watch series 1, i.e. the original. It's hit-or-miss on triggering the security detectors, so I usually just take it off and send it through the x-ray.
Last week at London Luton, something strange happened. I went through the full body scanner and my left wrist set off the yellow box "possible threat" -- exactly where my watch is worn. This wasn't a rolled up sleeve, as my arms were otherwise bare (short sleeves). Anyone ever hear of an Apple Watch's residue setting off the alarm like this? |
Not saying it wasn't residue of some kind but I have had alarms on bare skin more than once. Don't know if it is moisture, slight movement, or something else. Try to replicate this on your next screening.

It's moisture. That's one of the primary things the full body scanners alarm on.
