Yellow BP scan
Hello - on Sunday while flying my wife's BP scanned yellow. She nor I have TSA pre, and neither of us have ever had an issue before. Mine scanned green. The agent at the podium didn't do anything different and we went on our way. I watched while waiting in line and another person scanned yellow (among the sea of greens) and again the agent did nothing different. Anyone know the deal?

Anyone? This seems like a simple answer - yet I can't find anything.

I have TSA Pre and have noticed that sometimes when my BP is scanned it lights yellow and sometimes it lights up green, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Maybe it's a random trigger to see if you freak out and therefore merit deeper checking?
Nah, that would be almost sorta kinda logical. |
Isn't yellow used for non-electronically-signed BPs (not required for paper boarding passes issued by kiosks or airline agents) and green for electronically-signed BPs (required for online checkin and mobile boarding pases)?

Mine was a mobile BP on my phone. Her's was a BP issued (on paper) and checked-in at the counter. |
