Welcome to FlyerTalk @ki0x18!

A foreign passport is an acceptable document for getting through a TSA Security checkpoints.

As for the risk, this day and age, one never knows.

I don't know about Florida, as I only ever have gone through Orlando, but some border towns may present a problem.

For example, to visit my parents, I go through McAllen, TX (MFE). There's a CBP/ICE agent sitting right next to the TSA TDC at the checkpoint. The airport is only a few miles from the border.
