TSA 3.4 Ounce Question
I will be flying internationally from the USA to Mexico. I have done this few times already. I did not have checked bag last time. Thus when i go back, i won't have a checked bag.
I do have something that i will need to bring with me to Mexico. Its a cream but its not a face cream. Its like a cream for the groin area This is in 5 ounces. I assume if i want to bring this with me, I have to put this in those under 3.4 ounce travel bottles? The thing is isn't that kind of a bit disgusting? Thus when i reuse these bottles even though i will wash it fully clean, it doesn't really feel right if you know what i mean. I know many people use this for shampoo and lotion etc. I did read there are some exceptions for certain things that doesn't need to be less than 3.4 ounces. Does that mean I can take this with me on my carry on... or will i still have to pour it in a travel bottle. This isn't liquid. Its more like a cream. I'm also wondering what about those anti fungus cream that people have that are over 3.4 ounces. Do those really have to be put in a travel bottle? |

Not stated in the two links above is the fact that a TSA screener can use discretion to allow or not allow an item even when it is permitted. And you have no recourse!

The solution is simple - put it into smaller bottles, but use cheap bottles that you won't re-use for any other product. Buy a set of these for $2.79 at Walmart and use them only for your ball cream: iGo Grab-N-Go Travel Bottles at WalMart |
