I've taken my own guide cane, and two collapsing walking sticks, through security multiple times, both TSA and non-TSA. So far I've never had a problem with it, shockingly enough. They put it through the xray and either give it back to me immediately or give me a wooden hook cane while I'm waiting for them to finish the grope first.

Occasionally TSA or foreign security has wanted to look at the roller ball tip on one of my guide canes (it's a big sphere with a screw that's visible on xray), but that's about it.
