Will "European Dates" on visa affect exit/entry?
 

I noticed that the UK visa in my passport says 1/1/13 to 1/7/13 due to the European way of writing dates (inverting month/day). Would the people in the good ol' USA or when I land in Europe/England get confused and say my visa expired? I mean, how do I prove it is July 1 and not January 1?

I previously submitted the passport to my job (at a bank) and they sent me numerous emails about an "expired visa" until I sent them another ID.

Your question is extremely confusing. What is your country of citizenship and where are you trying to use your visa? Why would somebody at your US job be interested in your UK visa? Please elaborate more.

What you call "the European way " of writing dates is common in most of the world, apart from the USA. No one in Europe will get confused. they are used to the system of writing date order as dd/mm/yyyy.

As you quoted it, the UK visa is valid from 1 January 2013 to 1 July 2013.

While someone used to the USA way of writing dates (mm/dd/yyyy) may read the visa as being valid from 1 January 2013 to 7 January 2013, they should realise that no visa is likely to be issued for a period covering only 7 days.

i think they should be able to handle that. The I-94 actually has the the date in dd/mm/yy format rather than the US Standard of mm/dd/yy. The Customs form if i remember correctly too.
My US Visa actually writes out the Monthname, so there is no confusion in that.

I-94 clearly states day/mo/yr to prevent confusion for international visitors (who are used to this date format) and Americans who will be checking this form to verify eligibility for various benefits (SSA, DMV, HR, etc).

The UK visa does not mention the date format, it is just written in dd-mm-yyyy. I guess the reason is that the UK visa is intended for the UK where all people are accustomed to this format. The UK visa is not intended to be used in the USA.

URGENT URGENT HELP PLS. I'm very new here and I don't know where I should be posting this. I guess I'm not eligible to post new threads yet. Anyway, I'm a flight attendant and I usually go to Europe every month so the issuance of personal Schengen visa was no problem. My dilemma is my personal visa states that it's valid until 8-march-13(Multiple entry). I'm planning to go to Paris on the 7th and will leave the next day. If it's valid till the 8th then I should be fine, right? I would really appreciate your response.thanks so much!!
