General Security Question and MRE or FRE Heaters
 

I just found out that we will be taking the train via the chunnel from the UK to Paris.

My son will not be able to eat in Paris, other than the foods I bring for him, due to extensive food allergies.

Do you think I will be able to take a few MRE or FRH heaters with us? Or will they be confiscated by Paris Customs? These are salt based small packs and only require water. They just heat up water and then you can heat up your food. I have a plastic and metal "casserole" container in the style of a double boiler that is very helpful for heating my son's food. I will not have them open, but sealed in their original plastic wrap.

It's going to be cold, so it would be nice for him to have at least a couple of warm meals while we are there.

If there are any Military members here on the boards, I'm sure they will be familiar with the MRE heaters.

I can't speak to having the warmers with you, but I started another thread that talked about TSA removing foot warmers that a friend of mine had in her checked suitcase. I don't see why MREs would be a problem.

Take whatever you like. You will go through security screening in London, but the list of prohibited items does not include food - I would avoid bazookas and samurai swords for example. Copious amounts of alcohol are usually a no-no as well.

There is no formal Customs border between UK and France, but expect to have to show passports at either end or sometimes on the train itself as the UK still maintains physical border security with the rest of the EU.
