portable breastpump as carry on
 

I've looked at TSA website and search FT. However I cannot find a link that say it is ok to do a carry on for a portable dual power breast pump for a nursing mother.

Any one have experience/ suggestions etc.

My wife recently carried one through, no problems. Surprisingly I think I found the answer on some other US food and child welfare website..

I've carried them on through IAH and EWR for multiple int'l flights no problems really.
I even carried them with no female travelling with me and no questions.

I never took it out of hte bigger bag I was putting through. So, 2 out of 4 times they pulled it out to run it through again on its own (which you are supposed to do I am told).

You can bring the breast pump with you. These are dense items, and the x-rays are not that powerful. I would ensure as best you can if that you have the pump in a bag that is not cluttered.

Will the breast pumps be fondled?

Cant say for sure, but my best judgement is that if they're lactating, you've got problems. You know, liquids and all........

The majority of the human body is liquid, even for those who aren't in a position to nurse an infant on nourishment from human mammary glands. Given the TSA's war on water, no wonder the TSA treats passengers as enemies.

It may result in additional scrutiny of the passenger's belongings and/or passenger, but ordinarily its transport as cabin baggage is not prevented by the TSA.

Beware lecherous TSA employees -- that is far more frequently a problem. A young woman on packed public buses in New Delhi has less chances of being groped by lecherous men than a young mother traveling from a TSA-run show at US airports has of being groped or strip searched.

The TSA is a perverted "security" organization.
